Getting Here
FLIGHTS &
TRANSPORTATION.
Primary Entry Point
Ben Gurion Airport (TLV)
Tel Aviv — 55 km from Jerusalem
Arriving by Air
Ben Gurion International Airport (TLV) in Tel Aviv is the primary entry point for international travelers. It is approximately 55 km from Jerusalem — about 45–60 minutes by road. Direct flights operate from major hubs in the US, Europe, and Asia.
Airport to Jerusalem
ASCEND will operate official shuttle buses from Ben Gurion Airport to partner hotels on October 11–13. Shared sherut (taxi) services run 24/7 for approximately $30–40 USD. The Nesher Taxi service is the most reliable option for independent travelers.
Getting Around Jerusalem
Jerusalem's light rail (LRT) connects the city center to major sites. The Old City and most ASCEND venues are walkable from partner hotels. ASCEND will operate free shuttle loops between partner hotels and the main venue throughout the event.
Car Rental
Car rental is available at Ben Gurion Airport and in Jerusalem. Driving in Israel is straightforward — roads are well-signed in English and Hebrew. Parking near the Old City is limited; we recommend using the shuttle system during the event.
Official ASCEND Service
FREE SHUTTLE SERVICE
FOR ALL ATTENDEES.
ASCEND will operate free shuttle loops between all partner hotels and the main venue throughout October 13–14. Airport shuttles available on October 11–13 for registered attendees.
Need to Know
PRACTICAL
INFORMATION.
Everything you need to know before you travel — from visas and currency to climate and dress codes.
Visa & Entry
Citizens of the US, EU, UK, Canada, Australia, and most Western nations do not require a visa to enter Israel for stays up to 90 days. Check with your country's foreign ministry for the latest entry requirements. Israel uses a biometric entry stamp — your passport will not be physically stamped.
Currency
Israel's currency is the New Israeli Shekel (NIS / ₪). Credit cards are widely accepted throughout Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. ATMs are plentiful. As of 2026, 1 USD ≈ 3.7 NIS. Currency exchange is available at the airport and in the city.
Language
Hebrew and Arabic are the official languages. English is widely spoken throughout Jerusalem, especially in tourist areas, hotels, and restaurants. ASCEND programming will be conducted primarily in English with translation available.
Climate in October
October is one of the best months to visit Jerusalem. Expect warm, dry days (22–26°C / 72–79°F) and cool evenings (12–16°C / 54–61°F). Rain is rare but possible toward the end of October. Light layers are recommended for evening sessions.
Safety
Jerusalem is a safe city for international visitors. Standard travel precautions apply. ASCEND will have a dedicated security and safety team on site. Check your government's travel advisory for the latest guidance before traveling.
Health & Medical
Israel has excellent medical facilities. Travel insurance with medical coverage is strongly recommended. Pharmacies (Beit Mirkachat) are widely available. ASCEND will have first aid stations at all venues.
Power & Connectivity
Israel uses Type H plugs (220V). Bring a universal adapter. Mobile data is available via local SIM cards (purchase at the airport) or international roaming. Wi-Fi is available at all partner hotels and most venues.
Dress Code
Modest dress is required when visiting religious sites — shoulders and knees covered. For ASCEND sessions, smart casual is appropriate. Comfortable walking shoes are essential — Jerusalem is a city of hills and stone.
